Chanda Nxumalo, Director, Harmattan Renewables, SAPVIA Spokesperson
Chanda is a professional engineer with 15 years of experience in the renewable energy and power sector. She has extensive experience working in a technical, business development, and executive capacity in African, American, and European markets. She also has a successful track record of identifying and successfully converting new business opportunities in both developed and emerging markets. Chanda has supported financial close for a 150 MW wind farm in Senegal and served as transaction advisory on 3 75 MW solar PV projects and a 100 MW wind project for Old Mutual Investment Group. She has also assisted in the development, negotiations, and review of EPC and O&M contractual arrangements for wind and solar projects. She also provides investor due diligence and market entry support. Chanda has a Master’s of Engineering in Engineering and Economics & Management from the University of Oxford. She also has undergraduate degrees in French and International Politics & Sociology of Race and Ethnicity. She is fluent in English and French and has proficiency in German and Portuguese.
Willie van Niekerk, Asset Director at Globeleq
Willie is an Asset Director at Globeleq, currently responsible for 4 Utility Scale Solar Plants in the SA REIPPPP. He is based in Cape Town and has been involved in the REIPPPP since the start. Willie is a trained Commercial Lawyer and supports Business Development efforts of the group.
